Russia and China back the Trump-Blair-Netanyahu plan

'Russia always supports and welcomes any efforts by Trump aimed at ending the tragedy that is currently unfolding. And, of course, we want this plan to be implemented and for it to help bring events in the Middle East to a peaceful conclusion.'. This was stated on behalf of Putin by his spokesman Dmitry Peskov, after having recalled that Moscow has maintained contact with all sides in the conflict. That is, first and foremost with Netanyahu.

China too has officially offered its cooperation with the plan.

This is further proof, if any were needed, that Russia and China are simply pursuing their own imperialist interests. Just like US and European imperialism.

Not only did they never even consider breaking ties with Israel, but they looked after their interests at the highest level even during the two years of genocide. China is still Israel's third largest trading partner globally, and its companies are even involved in the occupied West Bank. Russia has mantained a direct and personal relationship with Netanyahu, which unsurprisingly resulted in Russia and Israel voting together at the UN on 24 February 2025 against condemning Russia's invasion of Ukraine, on the third anniversary of the start of the invasion.

More generally, the Palestinian and Middle East question has entered into the negotiating game between American imperialism and Russian imperialism.

Russia wants Trump to accept its annexation intentions in Ukraine and the war waged for it. In return, Russia is offering as a moderator and accomplice in the Middle East. This was the case with Iran, when Russia offered its intercession for an agreed nuclear disarmament during the American-Zionist aggression to Tehran. This is also the case today with regard to Palestinian resistance organisations. Russian support for the Trump-Blair-Netanyahu plan, a plan which calls for the very destruction of the Palestinian resistance, is a stab in the back for the latter. It is a call to a humiliating surrender.

Hard times for campist left. For those who not only stubbornly persist in denying the imperialist nature of Russia and China, but even assign a progressive international role to them. The truth of the facts debunks illusions and lies, bringing things back to reality every time.

The Palestinian resistance has no friends at the top, only at the bottom. All the old and new imperialist powers are on the other side of the barricade – the barricade of Israel and Netanyahu.
