No to a colonial protectorate in Gaza!
On the side of Palestinian resistence
30 Settembre 2025
The Trump-Netanyahu plan for Gaza is currently being celebrated by all media as a great peace plan for Palestine and the Middle East. But it is indeed a real a neo-colonial plan. A plan for the need of the Zionist state and for imperialism.
The executioner Netanyahu aims to reap the fruits of the great genocidal war: the surrender and disarmament of the Palestinian resistance; a free hand in the West Bank, which the plan deliberately fails to mention; a Gaza government controlled directly by Trump and Blair, guaranteeing Israel, imperialist interests in the region and real estate appetites.
Netanyahu aims for an international 'stabilisation' force in Gaza in collaboration with Israel, with the aim of the annihilation of any possible present or future resistance. A direct presence complementary to the Israeli army 'until Gaza is adequately protected from any terrorist threat', i.e. virtually a permanent military presence, as a security clause.
Trump, for his part, is working to gather most Arab governments around Israel in order to relaunch and expand the Abraham Accords. The demand for Israel's apology to Qatar is part of the operation. Arab regimes are openly involved in the plan as guardians of Hamas' surrender and Israel's 'security', starting with Egypt and Jordan.
In this context, even Iran has been mentioned as a possible future and additional partner in a major regional agreement, of course in exchange for its surrender to Zionist and imperialist diktats.
As for the Palestinian Authority, it is being reserved a hypothetical and future role if it will show an undefined capacity for self-reform on the long term. Actually, this amounts to its humiliating marginalisation.
Trump's manoeuvre is ambitious. He is seeking a new balance of forces in the Middle East that will allow him to focus on the Pacific. The extension of the Abraham Accords is central to this purpose. Israel's military breakthrough on all fronts threatened to compromise the US plan, hindering a reconciliation between Israel and Arab countries. The current plan aims to overcome this problem with a reversal of approach. It is precisely Israel's military omnipotence in the region, thanks in part to US support, the factor identified as the necessary centre of gravity for the new regional balance.
The capitulation of the Arab bourgeoisie could not be more blatant. The fact that even the Palestinian Authority is cheering a plan which doesn't leave any recognition for the PA itself is the clearest measure of its political corruption.
European imperialist powers line up one after another with the Trump-Netanyahu plan. In previous months, the political impasse of Trump's operation and pressure from a strongly pro-Palestinian European public opinion had led several European governments to mimic the virtual 'recognition' of the State of Palestine. This was a hypocritical and cosmetic operation on the part of the same governments that continued and continue to arm and finance Israel.
And yet, it was an operation that aimed to exploit the contradictions of Trump's policy in order to try to establish their own relationship with the Gulf monarchies, somehow in competition with the relationship of the United States. The Macron-Saudis plan in particular moved in this direction. But now that Trump has regained control of the situation, the European imperialist countries are giving way to him. The fact that Trump's plan does not envisage a Palestinian state except as an 'aspiration' of the Palestinians (an aspiration that cannot be denied to anyone) is not a problem for the governments of the European Union. The balance of power between the EU and the US, and the complicity of the EU with Israel, cannot but imply the EU aligning with the US, with much tribute and appreciation.
The Palestinian people remain the designated victims of the great imperialist and Zionist game. Nothing has changed for them. Israel's war continues in these hours with its toll of death and terror. In Gaza and in the West Bank. The Palestinian organisations have not even been consulted on a plan that envisages their destruction. The Palestinians of Gaza will have no say in the colonial government chosen for them. The Trump-Netanyahu plan provides a process of dialogue aimed at changing the mentality of the Palestinians. That is, to eradicate in them the very and simple idea of being an oppressed nation and the idea of resistance. This is the eternal ambition of every colonial occupation.
But this plan will fail. Whatever the immediate military outcomes of the terrorist blackmail of the Zionist state and imperialism, we can say with absolute certainty that the Palestinian people will not disperse either their cause or their memory. Everything will be remembered, nothing will be forgiven, especially after two years of genocidal war. Palestinian resistance will knock on the door again and again in the future. We hope it will do it with a new direction and a new programme of revolution.
No to colonial protectorates in Palestine! For a Palestine freed from Zionism and imperialism! For a united, democratic, secular, socialist Palestine in a socialist Middle East!
