Strike for Palestine!
Hands off the Flotilla! No to the Trump-Blair-Netanyahu plan!
2 Ottobre 2025
Leaflet distributed for the general strike for Palestine
Italian version
At the same time as Trump and Netanyahu promote a neo-colonial plan for Palestine and Gaza, the Zionist state's navy protects its naval blockade in the Gaza Sea by threatening, attacking and seizing the Flotilla's boats. It's just outrageous and unacceptable.
The naval blockade of Gaza, which has been in place for eighteen years (...not just since October 7th 2023), is part of the genocidal war that Netanyahu has unleashed against the Palestinian people. Denouncing and challenging it is not only a right but a duty. This is the stated purpose of the Global Sumud Flotilla.
Israel's attack on the flotilla is proof, if proof were needed, that the Zionist state knows only one law: the law of abuse of power and terror against anything daring to bother, even symbolically, its interests as an oppressive state. It is the same practice of terror that characterised these two years of war in Gaza and in the West Bank, with their toll of death and destruction. Israel's deeds don't get punished, but instead are supported, financed and armed by all so-called democratic governments, and endorsed by all the imperialist powers, the old and the new ones.
The Italian government gave Israel free rein. To the point of blaming the Flotilla activists for Israel's attack on it. No wonder: it is the same government that protects Italy's military agreement with Israel, offers Sigonella airport for the refuelling of Israeli aircraft, supplies Israel with Leonardo-made helicopters to be used against the resistance, grants ENI the Gaza sea to make profits.
So it goes without saying that Israel is then seen as a ‘friendly country’, and the Flotilla is seen as a hostile presence. We can get an idea of the whole bourgeois politics' complicity with Israel from the unanimous appeal to the Flotilla by the President of the Republic, the leaders of the Church and a large part of the so-called parliamentary opposition, to renounce breaking the Gaza blockade and be satisfied with a few pats on the back. This are the same bourgeois parties that a year ago voted in Parliament to send a ship in the Persian Gulf against the Houthis, on the side of Israel and against the Palestinian resistance.
The attack on the Flotilla and the complicity with which this attack are a further spotlight on the true face of the Trump-Netanyahu plan for Gaza. The eternal peace that the plan claims is the peace of cemeteries. A tombstone on the self-determination of the Palestinian people. The Palestinians are deprived of any say in their fate. Any resistance on their part is threatened with total destruction. Netanyahu can act freely in the West Bank, while Gaza is entrusted to an Anglo-American colonial protectorate, with military occupation. It's just a guarantee for Israel, imperialist interests and the greed of profiteers and building speculators. It is despicable. All Arab governments and all imperialist states, including Russia and China, are complicit in this, declaring their support for Trump's peace plan and wishing him every success.
This proves once again that the Palestinians have no friends at the top, only at the bottom. Their friend are the courage of their own resistance, the pro-Palestinian mobilisation of the younger generation around the world, the international working class.
Long live the strike for Palestine, against the colonial state of Israel and its genocidal barbarism!
For an all-out blockade of all shipping with Israel in ports and airports. For workers' control and power over the goods entering and exiting the country.
Hands off the Flotilla.
No to the neo-colonial protectorate envisaged by the Trump-Blair-Netanyahu Plan.
For the full self-determination of the Palestinian people.
For the right of return of Palestinians to their land.
For a Palestine united from the river to the sea, freed from Zionism, imperialism and all forms of colonialism.
For a secular and socialist Palestine, in a socialist Middle East.
